Different driving behavior, the acceleration mode and the energy consumption have an effect on the range. That's why we analyzed around 200 million kilometers and optimized the electronic control parameters. The driving data of more than 150,000 drivers have flown into our data model and NIU has thus decoded the parameters of realistic everyday driving and incorporated into the configuration of the U-series.
An engine with 92.6% efficiency:
NIU has recently developed a brushless permanent magnet motor. To increase the efficiency of the engine, NIU's R & D department has developed a new permanent magnet motor. Each component of the U-Series electric drive has been designed with precision in mind to balance power and energy efficiency, ensuring that enough power is available and power losses are minimized.
Field-oriented vector control:
The exclusive FOC (Field Oriented Vector Control) guarantees a smooth driving experience with perfect timing of the engine control. Compared with the rectangular vibration control, the linear acceleration works excellently over the vector control. After calculating a complicated algorithm, rigorous work on the drive, and precise adjustment of power consumption, we have created a smooth acceleration rate at 10% input ≈ 10% output. It also adds a lot to the performance of the scooter.
Electronic brake system with regeneration:
Each braking operation produces kinetic energy that is normally lost. With the EBS (Electronic Braking System) and regenerative braking system, the kinetic energy generated during braking is converted into electrical energy and fed into the lithium battery, ultimately increasing the range of the U-Series.
Cloud ECU, the smart core of the U-series:
A smart core in the U-Series, Cloud ECU acts like a private scooter analyst that helps you collect, analyze and process your driving data. With the cloud connection after each trip, data analysis optimizes your intelligent driving experience by learning from your driving habits.
New MEMS 6-axis motion sensor:
The anti-theft alarm range has been reduced to an amazing 3 meters thanks to the MEMS 6-axis motion sensor. A gyroscope measures the acceleration of the vehicle and GPS the position, together this leads to an increase in accuracy of 40%, which allows you to localize your scooter to 3 meters accurate. The 6-axis sensor not only protects against theft but also detects all movements along the axes. For example, you also get a notification when your scooter falls over.
BMS - smart battery management system:
As a smart manager of all battery cells, the BMS offers more than just the precise calculation of power, charge and discharge. It also processes data on voltage, current, temperature and 10 other safety mechanisms to ensure that each part of the battery is stable and efficient. Independent research and development at BMS works consistently with lithium batteries that enable you to drive better and safer.
New keyless launcher:
The U-series uses a new keyless start system. When you get to your scooter in less than 50 meters, she gets ready and connects the remote control to the central control system. If you want to drive you just have to press the button on the key and start driving. Without a keyhole it is even more practical!
The U-frame:
When you first see the U-Series, you will be impressed by the sight of the 38mm steel frame. The Q235 steel has excellent torsional stiffness and low length stiffness, giving it a yield strength of 235 MPa. This is often used in the construction of structures such as shelves, bridges, etc.
daytime running lights:
Safety comes first at NIU. The U-Series is equipped with daytime running lights and a 360 degree LED lighting system. Pedestrians and car drivers have no problem finding you on the road, which reduces the likelihood of accidents. Electric motor lock:
